Dr. Ali is a postdoctoral researcher in the Doxey Lab. She received her PhD in 2025 from the University of Waterloo, where she discovered two novel proteins produced by Pseudoalteromonas tunicata and explored their functions in biofilms formation. Dr. Ali is interested in conducting genomic surveillance of wastewater to characterize novel antimicrobial resistance genes. Supplemented by the surveillance of relevant viral and bacterial pathogens.
